Launched in 1967 by entrepreneur Raymond Ackerman, Pick 'n Pay is a supermarket chain found throughout South Africa and its neighbours - Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The stores range in size but commonly sell groceries, general merchandise, stationery and wine.
The Pick 'n Pay Online website allows customers to browse and order items from the comfort of their own home. The items are then transported to the customer’s doorstep during the chosen delivery timeslot for a standard delivery cost of R60. It is the ideal solution for those who do not have the time or are just too lazy to visit the supermarket.
As far as we can see, it looks as if all items available in-store can be purchased online, including cigarettes, tobacco, fresh produce, meat and wine. E-shoppers can also purchase a large assortment of beer, hard liquor and other alcoholic beverages not stocked by Pick 'n Pay supermarkets.
Another handy section is Pick n Pay Entertaining (only available in Gauteng Province), which offers a complete range of platters and party supplies not available in smaller stores. Flowers and gifts can be purchased through NetFlorist. Pick 'n Pay Online also links to Go Banking – PnP’s low-cost banking solution in conjunction with Nedbank.
Pick 'n Pay Online contains an incredibly comprehensive help centre which covers all the likely problems which might be presented to first-time online shoppers and the less internet-savvy. The website is convenient, secure and easy to use. It is an excellent resource for customers who are not fussed about ordering their groceries via the internet without actually laying eyes on the produce.
